Sharing With Our Family
These are some of the ways in which we share our harvest of hospitality, hope and healing with those who are connected to our community.
Acknowledging Significant Events
Cards are sent on behalf of St. Peter’s to parishioners for birthdays, anniversaries, special events, or just to brighten someone’s day. Cards are also sent during difficult times as reminders we have the support and prayers of the community. Currently over 600 cards are mailed during the year.
Donations of cards (anniversary, birthday, get well, note cards, thinking of you, sympathy) and/or stamps are always gratefully accepted and new members to the committee are always welcome.
Committee Members: Terry Merrill, Chairperson; Paula Buckley; Missy Vaughn
Crisis Response
Coordinates providing meals for members in times of severe distress as well as food and hospitality at funeral receptions held in our Parish Hall.
Prayer Chain
A group of committed people who pray for the needs of members, especially in moments of concern. To request a prayer contact Terry Merrill.
Lay Eucharistic Visitor
Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEV’s) are responsible for taking the Sunday Eucharist to parishioners who are not able to attend regular services in the parish due to illness or hospitalization. This ministry is usually performed immediately following the Sunday Eucharist. This is a licensed ministry within the Episcopal Church in Delaware and requires that the Visitor be a confirmed adult member in good standing and a licensed Lay Eucharistic Visitor.
If you are interested in serving as a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, please speak with Mother DJ.
PAWS for Faith
A parishioner who volunteers with three of her dogs at PAWS for People started the ministry of PAWS for Faith at St. Peter’s where she and one of her dogs will visit homebound or hospitalized members or their family as well as bring them to St. Peter’s for parishioners to enjoy. If you attend St. Peter’s and would like a visit, please let the Rector know. To learn more about this ministry, CLICK HERE.
